I lost something at the air show - what do I do?
Please ring 01792 635428 from Monday afternoon, as we have had several items handed in.
Where can I see some photos of the event?
We've added images to Flickr - if you'd like to add images to our group we'd be delighted to see them. The group can be found on www.flickr.com/groups/walesnationalairshow
What time are the air displays?
Please see the 2011 timetable here (correct at time of production).
Updates will also be available on Twitter on the day – please follow @WalesAirShow
How do I get to Swansea?
Please visit the air show travel page for full details.
Where can I park and are there disabled parking places available?
Where possible, we advise you to use the Fabian Way Park & Ride site at £2.50 per car. An extra Park and Ride bus will be running so the service should be every 12 minutes (although traffic will be heavy and may cause delays).
Dedicated parking for the disabled is available in each of the designated car parks apart from Paxton Street.
Please visit the air show travel page for full details.
I’ve booked parking in advance – where is the Recreation Ground car park?
Your space has been reserved in the Recreation Ground car park which is next to the fun fair area on the map below (please click to enlarge).
If you are travelling from the city centre direction towards Mumbles you will see St Helen’s Rugby and Cricket Ground on your right and you need to turn right at the next lights.
If you are travelling from the Mumbles / Gower direction you will pass Swansea University on your left, then turn left after the next set of lights at Brynmill Lane.
Why do I need to arrive early if I’ve already booked my car park space?
Thousands of people will be coming to Swansea to enjoy Wales National Air Show and traffic will be heavy.
To make sure you don’t miss the start of the air displays we strongly advise you to arrive early and enjoy the ground displays which are open from 10.00am – 6.00pm on both days.
Are there any roadworks taking place that weekend?
No.
What time is high tide for the 2011 air show?
1.15pm on Saturday and 2.25pm on Sunday. There's enough sand for lots of beach activities by the Civic Centre though, and the planes will be closer to the crowd, so it's perfect.
An air show isn’t very green – what are you doing to help the environment?
There will be a number of recycling points at the event and members of the council’s recycling team will be on hand to help and coordinate litter clearance.
The council is undertaking the planting of additional trees and shrubs throughout the city.
Many of the aircraft which take part in the display do so as part of their normal training regime.
The event traffic management plan encourages car sharing and alternative forms of transport where possible.
All catering stands have been asked to use only recycled packaging.
Will there be a commentary?
Yes, there will be a commentary during the air displays and public announcements will also be made throughout the day.
A public address system will run from the Civic Centre to the main ground display site located on the promenade by the Cenotaph.
Updates will also be available on Twitter – please follow @WalesAirShow
Where’s the best place to see the air displays?
We recommend anywhere along Swansea Promenade, from Mumbles to the Civic Centre although the displays will be centred on the ground display area. Keen photographers among you may like to note that the sun will be in front of you from the ground display and will move towards Mumbles Head (where the lighthouse is).
There’s also plenty to see and do on the beach between the Civic Centre and the Recreation Ground, including sports sessions and bouncy castles, plus the main ground displays/activities on the promenade at the Cenotaph and the Recreation Ground.
Is food available at the air show?
Yes, a full range of food is available in the ground display area around the Recreation Ground and Cenotaph and also around Civic Centre.
The food range will include jacket potatoes, curry, burgers, fish and chips and crepes. Icecream, doughnuts, sweets and fudge stalls will also be open.
There will also be a bar plus tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available.

Will it be noisy?
Yes, there will be high noise levels, especially during the jet aircraft displays from the Tornados, Red Arrows, Blades and Team Viper.
There may be noise from practice sessions on the Friday before the airshow weekend as well as the afternoons of Wales National Air Show.
You may want to consider bringing earplugs or ear defenders for young children.
I can hear noise from aircraft and it's only Friday - have I missed the air show?
Don't worry, you can expect some noise from air show practice runs on the Friday before the air show.
Other planes may fly over to take a look at the area before the weekend air show.
Can I bring my pet?

Yes, there will be a number of food stands. These will be located at the Civic Centre, the Recreation Ground plus on the promenade near the Cenotaph.
What if my child gets lost?
Lost children and their parents can report to the information points located on the promenade near the Cenotaph and one at the Civic Centre. There will also be stewards on site to help you.
What if I need more information when I get there?
There will be two information points, one located on the promenade near the Cenotaph and one at the Civic Centre. The information team will also have site maps and a display time table.
Lost children / parents can also report to the information points. If in doubt there will also be stewards on site to help you.

Yes, there are two main First Aid points, manned by St Johns personnel. There is one point at the Civic Centre plus one on the promenade near the Cenotaph.
Members of St John will also be patrolling around the site throughout both days. If in doubt there will also be stewards on site to help you.
